As Dutch Kiwi I love to travel and explore. I call New Zealand home and love to explore and talk about our amazing little country. That's why I also run a travel blog about New Zealand (in Dutch) for travellers from The Netherlands & Belgium.
Digital Marketing in New Zealand is my game. Using innovative (alternative and/or open-source) tools & strategies is how I level up. It’s game on for this Digital Geek.
Why Digital Geek?
Simple: I grew up in the era of digital pioneers. We were the first to ride the wave of the digital revolution, adapting as the world transformed at breakneck speed. When my Atari jumped from 16KB to 64KB of RAM, it felt like unlocking a new level in a game. We’re wired for updating, experimenting, and figuring out what works and what doesn’t. We’re the OG digital geeks: curious, adaptable and always ready for the next challenge.
My expertise? Digital Marketing, eCommerce, AI and automation. I blend technical know-how with a hands-on mindset, ensuring solutions aren’t just clever, they actually work. Whether it’s building an online store, deploying AI chatbots or optimising customer journeys, I make it tangible.
What I Do When I’m Not Digitalising the World
- Gaming: From retro arcade classics (Pac-Man, Phoenix, Galaga) to modern indie gems and pinball. My Steam Deck is my trusty sidekick for gaming on the go.
- Craft Beer: I don’t brew my own, but I’m always on the hunt for new flavours at breweries and taprooms worldwide. Cheers to discovery!
- Street Food: Whether it’s a vegan bao bun in Taipei, a plant-based curry wurst in Berlin, or a tofu bánh mì in Timaru, I’m all about the tasty adventures.
- Travel & Music: Festivals, concerts, and new destinations. My ideal combo.
- Vinyl ("Crate Digging"): There’s nothing like sifting through a chaotic bin of records to find that one hidden gem. Chaos with a purpose!
Why Am I Telling You This?
Work, free time, and passions aren’t separate boxes, they’re one fluid experience. At work, we chat about hobbies. Over craft beer with friends, we dive into KPIs, successes and challenges. Passions shape my work. Just like I test strategies in games, explore new flavours in beer and uncover unique street food combos, I seek creative solutions and innovative approaches in my work.
